First responders are woven into our everyday life and must deal with immense daily stress to keep society safe. Due to this constant exposure to life’s most extreme situations, this can cause exponentially larger cases of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, panic disorder, and other operational stress injuries than within the general population.
How do we better prepare first responders for these situations before and after dangerous incidents? What can we do to explore new training methodologies to complement and enhance first responders’ training efforts around the world? In comes Virtual Reality. While Virtual Reality is not a brand new concept, its adoption for first responders is rapidly enhancing training efforts. Virtual Reality offers a range of valuable features such as repetitive training capabilities, reduced health risks, and avoid environmental restrictions.
